There are a number of diseases that present on horses’ skin and they can present similar to one another, but be completely different things. Therefore, we strongly recommend you having a vet out to examine your horse if you notice any problems with your horse’s skin.
Common diseases include rain scald, mud fever, ring worm, sarcoids and dermatitis. Please see our Handouts for more information on common skin diseases.
